What's it all about?

We are on a mixed farm in the Hindmarsh Shire in Western Victoria, just south of the Big Desert. We crop Non GM Canola, Wheat, Barley, Peas and Vetch and run Beef Cattle and Sheep.
We bought some free range Large Black Pigs (not registered pure breeds) in February 2012. We offer local supply of free range pork to people who want 'old fashioned' pork that comes from pigs that haven't been fed unnatural concoctions of hormones and antibiotics. Meat that has more fat than the current factory farmed meat. Meat that is juicy and flavoursome without being 'moisture infused' during processing.
We are still learning and hopefully improving our product. Our Large Blacks have an unreasonable hight percentage of fat and we have bought a Large White/Landrace cross boar to lean them up a little. Having said that we have no intention of them being as lean as what comes out of a 'factory farm'.
We deliver pigs to the family owned AWE Richards Abattoir in Bordertown and customers can fill in their own 'Butcher's Instruction' sheet to choose the cuts they would prefer (roasts, hams, bacon, spare ribs etc). You then pick your meat up from the butchers in Bordertown when it is ready!
Once you've had real bacon the stuff we are used to now tastes like cardboard, and the ham is DELICIOUS!
If you can't fit 50kg of meat in your freezer get some friends together and share a pig!
It's all about ethically produced, healthy food!
